Today Essex encompasses Pratt House, Ivoryton Playhouse, Essex Steam Train and Riverboat, Griswold Inn, and the Connecticut River Museum. The community also hosts many exciting annual events and celebrations, including a Pumpkin Festival in October, a Lobster Bake in August, a Fourth of July Parade in July, a May Market in May, an Irish Parade and Festival in March, and a Groundhog Day Parade in February.
