Initially settled prior to 1715, the Town of Oxford, Connecticut was first a part of the Town of Windsor. Oxford is located twenty miles northeast of Hartford and is comprised of forty-one square miles rich with history like that found in the Oxford Green Historic District which in 1997 was added to National Register of Historic Places. In this delightful village, you’ll find many gorgeous old buildings, some of which have been restored and renovated to serve new purposes while retaining the area’s vintage charm. Additional points of historical interest include the Ratcliffe Hicks Memorial School which was constructed in 1908 and today is the Hicks Municipal Building.
